Before we get into the exciting features coming in this version, we have to take care of some housekeeping:

ALL QUICKBOOKS ONLINE USERS MUST RE-CONNECT THEIR SERVICE 11/15/2019 Thursday night, all Active QBO services will be moved to a Connect status. This is to facilitate a new connection under OAuth 2, the improved security standard to which QuickBooks Online has migrated. If users do not re-connect before their next scheduled sync, they will receive an error, but LOCATE will continue to run accounting as normal until the connection is reestablished.

Note: The quality and functionality of our QBO integration will not change. This is strictly a behind-the-scenes enhancement for improved security to meet Intuit's new standards.

Features

Bill of Materials
  • Added BOM and Part build to stock modals. ​ This pre-populates the Build To value with the default manufacturing location from the site record.
Countries
  • NEW Tax Service ID - There is a new tax_service_id on the country endpoint/object. This allows users to specify which tax service (if they have multiple) should be used for estimating/calculating tax when the given country is the destination of an order. This prevents competing tax estimations/calculations by limiting each situation to a single service. If no service is set, then the default tax service is used from the service module.
Currency
  • Added Audit feature to the currency detail page
Customers
  • If a customer and a sales order have a matching custom field (e.g. Color), the value of that field (Blue) will be passed from the customer to the order when a new sales order is created, unless the auto-copy field for that custom field is set to "no."
  • When customer-specific part numbers are assigned to parent customer accounts, these customer parts will now be searchable and accessible from child customer accounts.
  • NEW Added permission to control editing of customer financial settings (credit limit, payment terms, etc.)
  • Added ability to view child customers in the orders tab - this is an optional "Include Child Customers" button


Email Templates
  • You can now access Parent Company email addresses in Child Company templates
  • You can now access a Customers default Salesperson's email address in the list of pre-canned email address when creating an email template.
  • Opened up report format for election on email template event report linkages
  • Carrier and Service Level fields are now available on PO email templates
  • NEW Shipping Confirmation Emails! - There is a new CartonWasPickedup event allowing users to send emails as each carton is picked up. This event contains access to carrier, carrier service level, tracking numbers, shipping costs, orders, destination address, and more. The event is related to the carton, so all reports to be attached would need to be designed around this.
Inventory
  • Updated label for Unit Cost field on inventory add
Manufacture Orders
  • Added bulk delete option
Parts
  • NEW Inventory Buffers for eCommerce - This highly requested feature allows users to artificially "pad" the inventory values that sync to their e-commerce shopping carts. This can be controlled via a new custom field on the part generated by each e-commerce service, called Inventory Qty Adjustment. Setting this field to a negative number will lower the inventory value passed to the e-commerce cart by the given value, making the online stock seem lower than the true quantity, which can help prevent stock outs. Setting a positive value will increase the inventory qty and will allow sales to surpass the actual available qty, which can be helpful when replenishment stock is on the way.
  • Added Available for Sale qty to the part -> bundle item screen
  • Part alert notes now show on pick lines (UI and mobile)
  • Removed/archived the non-inventory gift card part type

Picking
  • Added Customer, Memos, Part, and Vendor columns as optional display on the pick by order grid
  • NEW Pick Method - Fewest Locations by Pick: LOCATE will prioritize picking from the fewest locations for the entire pick.
  • NEW Pick Method - Fewest Locations by Part: LOCATE will prioritize picking each part from a single location, instead of picking smaller part quantities from multiple locations.
  • NEW Pick Method - Pick Location Order, it's pick order not sort order. Lowest pick order gets picked first. So a location with pick_order of 1 will get picked before one with a pick_order of 5
Printers
  • Unlocked Use Order issued event for print events
Purchase Orders
  • Added Received Cost field to PO
  • NEW Users can now add lines to issued purchase orders. The expected workflow would be this:
  1. Create PO with expected qty and price.
  2. Issue PO.
  3. Receive shipped qty of expected PO parts as they come in.
  4. Add to the PO the qty and cost of any unexpected items that come in.
  5. Receive in the unexpected items.
  6. Repeat steps 4,5,6 as many times as necessary.
  7. Reconcile the Purchase Order once the order is complete
  8. Close Short any remaining lines with items that were not received
Quotes
  • NEW Allocation Start Date - A new field, "Allocation Start Date," has been added to Quote lines. Prior to winning/losing a Quote, you can modify this field to determine when LOCATE will allocate inventory towards the order.
Reconcile
  • NEW Added ability to Reconcile -> TO. Create a Transfer Order for all the items on a Receipt or Reconcile with just two clicks! Select "Create Transfer Order" from the Actions menu of a completed Receipt or Reconcile, then tell us which site you want to items transferred to, and voilà!
Reorder Points
  • Updated the ROP generator export to include average_consumption, part_id, reorder_at_qty, reorder_to_qty, site_id, total_consumption, part_name, and part_number
Return Orders
  • Updated handling for refund line type for return orders
Sales Orders
  • NEW Sell in Multi-Currency setting - when enabled, all $ values across the SO record should be in the SO currency, not home currency (if different) - includes payments, etc.
  • Unlocked ability to edit memo/salesperson on completed SO's

  • Added Salesperson to the SO CSV Import

Miscellaneous

  • Renamed is_taxable on fees/discounts to apply_post_tax. This should make it much more clear to users how the flag is affecting the tax outcome.
  • Service settings now have category and description fields. So far we have covered all eCommerce services. The descriptions appear as tooltips (the 'i' icon) in the UI.
  • Enabled Search in the Custom Field lists in Settings
  • Expanded negative inventory warning during issuance to cover RO, TO, and UO. This will require users to have permission to issue an order that is unfulfillable.
