Using Locate

General

The Contacts module allows you to search for sales and purchasing contacts, as well as site and carrier contacts. Additionally, sales and purchasing contacts can be added through the Contacts module. An order associated with a contact will pull the contact's name, phone, and email. Site and carrier contacts are added with the site or carrier object. Visit the Sites or Carriers page to learn more about adding those types of contacts.

List Detail View

The Contacts module only displays information in the list detail view.

Filters
Contacts can be sorted on Name and Title by toggling the filter headers. You can also begin typing a query in the text field to filter for contacts that match specific criteria. Clicking the Clear Filters button will clear your search.
Quick Action
  • Delete Contact - This action cannot be undone from the list detail view.

Create Contact

You can create a new contact from the Contacts module, Customers module, or Sales Orders module. To create a site or carrier contact, you will need to navigate to the respective site or carrier and edit the details of the record.

From Contacts Module

  1. Click the New Contact button
  2. Select a Type
    • Either customer or vendor. This will determine which account you can link your new contact to.
  3. Enter the Account Name
    • Begin typing and possible matches will begin to populate. Highlight and select the correct account name when you see it.
  4. Fill in the contact's information.
    • Name, title, phone number, and email address. Only a last name is required.
  5. Click Save and Close.

From Customers Module

  1. Navigate to the account you wish to create a contact for.
    • Customers > [Account Name]
  2. Click to the Contacts sub-tab.
    • Confirm the contact is not already entered with the same phone number and email address.
  3. Click New Contact
    • The type and account name will already be filled out based on the account you are currently on.
  4. Fill in the contact's information.
    • Name, title, phone number, and email address. Only a last name is required.
  5. Click Save and Close.

From Sales Orders Module

This method is ideal during order entry to minimize leaving the new order page.

  1. Enter the customer to the new order form.
    • Sales Orders > New Sales Order > Customer: [Account Name]
  2. If the desired contact does not show when the name is typed under buyer contact, click the plus sign to begin entering a new contact.
    • Locate searches for potential matches to your query as you type. If a match is not found, a new contact will need to be entered.
    • The type and account name will already be filled out based on the account listed on the order.
  3. Fill in the contact's information.
    • Name, title, phone number, and email address. Only a last name is required.
  4. Click Save and Close.

Edit Contact

Click on the name of the contact you wish to edit. You will be redirected to the customer account's Contacts sub-tab. There you can view or modify contact information as necessary.

  1. Click Edit
  2. Make any modifications
  3. Click Save

You can also delete a contact from this page. This delete cannot be undone.
