General

Documents are associated with many modules in LOCATE, such as Parts, Sales Orders, and Customers. This feature allows you to record and associate a variety of documents or images with specific records. All uploaded documents are stored in the Service of your choosing and may be accessed by other users at different sites, based on their permissions.

Upload Document

  1. Navigate to the record onto which you would like to upload the document.
    • Note that this feature is not available for all modules.
  2. Click onto the Docs sub-tab.
  3. Fields:
    • Document Upload - Click Choose File to select the file from your local computer.
    • Service - Select the Service on which you would like to store the document.
    • Type - This selection is only available in the Part module, and is used to mark which files are Part Images and may be used as default.
    • Description - Enter a brief description of the document, if desired.
  4. Click Upload

The document will be added to the list below. You may edit the description and type by clicking Edit next to the file.

Default Part Image

Once an image has been uploaded, it may be assigned as the default part image to appear on the part profile page. If the part is synced with an active eCommerce service the default part image will appear as the first thumbnail on the website. Note that the document type must be Part Image.

  1. Navigate to the part for which you would like to assign a default part image.
  2. In the list below, use the header sorting and filters to find the document.
  3. Click the Edit drop-down menu next to the document and select Make Default Part Image.

A green check-box will be displayed next to the default part image.

Download Document

  1. Navigate to the record associated to the document you would like to download.
  2. In the list below, use the header sorting and filters to find the document.
  3. Click the Download icon in the first column next to the document.

The file will download to the folder specified by your browser settings.

Delete Document

  1. Navigate to the record associated to the document you would like to delete and click onto the Docs sub-tab.
  2. In the list below, use the header sorting and filters to find the document.
  3. Click the Edit drop-down menu next to the document and select Delete Document.
