General

The Contacts module allows you to search for contacts related to customers, vendors, sites and carriers. Customer and vendor contacts may be created directly from the Contacts module. For information on how to add site and carrier contacts, visit the Sites or Carriers page.

List View

The Contacts module only displays information in the list view. Clicking on a specific contact will redirect you to the contact profile page in the appropriate module.

Filters
Contacts may be sorted on Name, Vendor/Customer/Carrier/Site, Title, Phone Number, and Email Address by clicking the filter heading. You may filter for contacts that match specific criteria by typing a value in the text field or selecting an option from the drop-down list. Clicking the Clear Filters button will clear your search.
Quick Action
  • Delete Contact - Remove the contact record from the list view and archive the record in LOCATE. This action cannot be undone from the list view.

Create Contact

You may create a new contact from the Contacts module, Customers module, or Sales Orders module. To create a site or carrier contact, you will need to navigate to the respective site or carrier and edit the details of the record.

From Contacts Module

  1. Open the Sales module category and select Contacts.
  2. Click New Contact in the upper left.
  3. Select the Customer type from the drop-down menu.
  4. Enter the Customer Name.
    • Begin typing and possible matches will begin to populate. Highlight and select the correct account name when you see it.
  5. Fill in the contact's information.
    • Only a last name is required.
  6. Click Save And Close.

From Customers Module

  1. Open the Sales module category and select Customers.
  2. Navigate to the customer account for which you would like to create a contact.
  3. Click the Contacts sub-tab.
    • Confirm that the contact is not already entered with the same phone number and email address.
  4. Click New Contact.
    • The type and customer account name will auto populate based on the record you selected.
  5. Fill in the contact's information.
    • Only a last name is required.
  6. Click Save And Close.

From Sales Orders Module

New contacts may be added to customer accounts during creation of a sales order. For more information on creating sales orders, click here.

  1. Enter the customer name onto the sales order create screen.
  2. Begin to type the contact name into Buyer Contact.
    • If the desired contact does not show, click the plus sign to begin entering a new contact.
    • The customer type and name will auto populate based on the customer record you selected.
  3. Fill in the contact's information.
    • Only a last name is required.
  4. Click Save And Close.

Edit Contact

Click on the name of the contact you wish to edit. You will be redirected to one of the following pages:

Vendors Module

Choosing a vendor type contact will redirect you to the Contacts sub-tab of the Vendors Module.

  1. Next to the contact you wish to change, click Edit.
    • You may change all of the available details of the contact.
  2. Click Save.

Customers Module

Choosing a customer type contact will redirect you to the Contacts sub-tab of the Customers Module.

  1. Next to the contact you wish to change, click Edit.
    • You may change all of the available details of the contact.
  2. Click Save.

Carriers Module

Choosing a carrier type contact will redirect you to the carrier profile page in the Carriers module from the Setup Menu.

  1. Click Edit Contact.
    • You may change all of the available details of the contact.
    • Note: Carriers may only have one contact.
  2. Click Save.

Sites Module

Choosing a site type contact will redirect you to the site profile page in the Sites module from the Setup Menu.

  1. Click Edit Site.
    • You may change all of the available details of the contact.
    • Note: Sites may only have one contact.
  2. Click Save.

Delete Contact

  1. In the Contacts module, click Quick Action.
  2. Select Delete Contact.
  3. When prompted, click Yes.
